See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I’ll admit, when i started this journey I thought I knew exactly what my core strengths were.

In specific order…

1. Screenwriting

2. Creativity

3. Shepard’s Pie.

Despite being fully versed in the art of cinema and having a strong suspicion that I would be excellent if called upon, I would never have had the arrogance to list acting as one of my my core strengths.

But now, I feel confident in saying that acting is indeed a core strength.

As followers of the blog will know, I have been burned by low quality male actors in the past…

So when i convinced Ben that I wanted to shoot a short script of mine on the themes of love and romantic depression, i decided that the only sensible thing to do was to put myself in the male lead.

As you will see, the results are stunning and I am proud of what i have achieved as not only a writer, but now, an actor.

Rachel as ever was superb. Ben had some issues playing the bartender but as soon as i convinced him that it wasn’t a good idea to show his face on screen, he really flourished.

I don’t have a lot to say at this moment in time.

Having watched back the footage, I’m sat here having to come to terms with the potentially devastating allegations made towards my good friend and mentor, Alexander Moonchild.

After ten years of companionship and inspiration, I don’t want to make any rash judgments so for now i’ll just sit back and review the evidence, much like Kevin Costner in Oliver Stone’s political epic JFK…and then come to a final conclusion as to what to do about my relationship with Alexander going forward.

(As I’ve mentioned JFK, I just want to take a moment to say what an underrated screenwriter Oliver Stone is. I think JFK shows great storytelling ability…just to come up with the central plot device of a president being assassinated showed great narrative imagination.

JFK is a work of fiction made with such realism, that it almost feels like the events depicted could have actually happened. Although I dread to imagine the implications of the President of the United States of America actually being assassinated in real life.

It is a horrific thought and a day I hope the world never has to go through in real life. But this is why we make films and tell stories. To explore our deepest and darkest fears in the safety of narrative conventions.

God bless America. May it never face a day that dark).

I know how out of hand affairs can get, so i’m making this statement to cut off any nastiness before it begins.

STATEMENT BY: NOEL WRIGHTER

FOR: THE PRESS AND THE INTERNET

I make this statement to clear up any potential future misreporting and to ask that the press now respect my privacy. I am not a public figure and do not seek publicity outside of my artistic work. Having journalists and photographers camped outside my house would cause immense strain and is harassment if that were ever to happen.

Please do not not knock on the door, please do not photograph me. I would ask, politely, that having made this statement I am left alone.
This is the only statement I have or will make on this subject.

It is true that Noel and Karen Banks had an affair. This is something that Noel deeply regrets and he will not provide any more details about it.

Noel would just like to say at this point that he hopes Karen and Frank can work things out and get back together and live a long and happy life together. Noel would also again like to express his respect for Frank Banks as a man and a friend, and hopes that one day they can sit down and have an ale and laugh about the whole situation.

Noel would also like to tell Frank that he still has his Breaking Bad dvds, but will not be returning them during this troubling time, for obvious reasons. Perhaps one day soon, when things calm down, Noel will send them through the post, or shove them through the letterbox himself. But Noel is only on series 2, so that might be a few months longer.

thank you for your time.

Noel Wrighter.

Morning everyone.

Another installment in two parts this week, and another experience that swings from the sublime to the tragic like a see-saw that is being dipped into melted chocolate at one end and some nails (construction, not finger. Although that would also be awful) at the other.

We filmed at the magnificent Henry Burgers, which you can find here…

http://henryburgers.co.uk/

the burgers are easily the best in Southend and probably trumps anything that those pretentious idiots in the city of London can offer. (i could write an essay on why London is actually the worst place that any of us have ever been, but I’ll have to save that for another time).

If i know I am visiting Henry Burgers, i always dreams about the food in the days before. this visit was no exception, and the night before i dreamed i was being chased by Nick Clegg dressed in a burger costume firing a bottle of mustard at me, as if it were a gun.

I’m no dream expert (i have a friend who is though, i’ll ask him) but i think it might be something to do with the yellow of the mustard representing the hopes and dreams of LIb Dem supporters, and the act of Clegg squirting it away so carelessly acting as a visual manifestation of the way that he has gone back on so many promises that he promised young, hopeful people like me before the last big country vote.

anyway…i’m going to add part 2 now.

Okay, here we go, part 2.

Firstly, let’s talk about the negatives. Namely, the incompetent and unprofessional behavior of that idiot Stephan. I should have listened to my gut instincts because as soon as i met him i knew bringing him in was a mistake, with his stupid cool-guy quiff and tattoos and denim jacket thinking he is like Justin Bieber or Gene Vincent or some other rockabilly hot shot from the 1920s. He is no John Travolta.

it was clear from the start he was a cocky know-it-all, and people like that are death to a good creative environment. So, despite things getting quite intense, I’m glad i got him away from the session. ultimately, i stood up for my artistic identity, and i think, came out the stronger for it. Just another lesson learned on my journey.

And now, the positives. I feel truly blessed to have found Rachel and been able to work with her. She is clearly my muse, and i think both of us realised that pretty early on.

I could write forever about Rachel and her many gifts, (Actually most of my time at the moment is spent writing about her. I have composed a few Sonnets, a short story and a piece of creative non-fiction about our time together) but for now I’ll just say that I can’t wait for us to meet and work with each other again. i feel like chance has dealt me a winning hand by thrusting Rachel into my life, and i hope that I will be able to thrust back into hers.

I know it will be a fruitful relationship both creatively, emotionally and, as long as it doesn’t have a negative impact on our work, (which i know it wouldn’t) physically as well.

Hi guys.

This is video part 1 of 2 of some work that I did with some actors today, Rachel and Stephan.

If I’m being honest, it was quite an intense day…I’m still trying to process a lot of the things that I went through. It feels like one of those days that will have an impact on the rest of your life, and i sort of knew that as it was happening.

I thought things were going quite well, as this video shows, but things happened in part 2 that I’m….I’m still quite conflicted about it all really. I felt blessed, but also cursed, all at the same time.

I think i’ll keep my powders dry at the moment, and then when the second part goes up, things will become a bit clearer and I’ll give a more detailed account of what i was going through, and my emotional state of mind, and how i’m still trying to process things.

god bless,

Noel.

FIRST DAY OF FILMING!

mostly just getting an idea of locations and stuff like that, but it feels good to have finally started.

Kept in the conversational bits with Ben at the end as I thought it was a great example of two artists at the height of their abilities, passionately arguing the good artistic fight, like Dali kicking Warhol in the balls or Richard Burton drowning Liam Neeson.

Enjoyed working with him and, I think, under my direction, he will come out of this process well. He seems like a decent guy, so I’m looking forward to shooting some more stuff.

(He does owe me money for that half pint thought, but I probably wont bring it up until after we’ve wrapped, just so not to generate and awkwardness and hostility, which is death to a film set).

ONWARDS.

god bless, Noel.

Hello Tumblr.

My name is Noel Wrighter. I am a screenwriter. This is a visual introduction to my journey to also become a film maker.

Screenwriting is my first love and I wouldn’t ever go to the cinema, or an Italian restaurant that has been given respectable reviews on TripAdvisor, with anyone else. I love her too much. However, in the same way that a threesome or a book of love poems might spice up a marriage, I will be courting another mistress (the camera) in order to strengthen my marriage to the written word.

Essentially, I am making a short film about screenwriting.

Honestly, it’s long overdue. I’ve often felt it was my duty to pass on my knowledge of the craft, and I’m finally doing it.

This video serves as the start of my journey.

It is essentially the Youtube equivalent of Frodo leaving the Shire in Lord of The Rings 1.

I will be documenting my journey via this blog noelwrighterscreenwriter.tumblr.com and on my youtube channel. Please subscribe to keep up to date with my progress.

God bless. Noel Wrighter.
